Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's swim team defeated William Paterson University 140-97 in NJAC action. The Roadrunners wrap up the dual meet season at 4-5 overall and 2-3 in the conference. Ramapo hands WPU just their third loss of the season as they now stand at 12-3 overall and 1-3 in the NJAC with one conference dual meet remaining.
The Roadrunners went 1-2 in the 200-yard medley relay. The 'A' team won the event with a time of 2:01.19, the team was made up of
Eliza Pluckhorn,
Taylor Gray,
Fiona Misiura and
Kiaranina Liwag. The 'B' team placed second overall, made up of
Pamela Santos,
Grace McCrone,
Abigael Coughlin and
Amy Butcher, finished second overall in 2:05.08.
Brittany Goodman won the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:33.71 while
Madison Riccardi finished in second place in 12:00.59. In the 200-yard freestyle,
Breanna Gleason won the event in 2:08.35 while
Carissa Campbell placed second (2:10.10) and
Olivia Davis placed third (2:14.07). Ramapo went 1-2 in the 100-yard backstroke as Pluckhorn finished in 1:06.71 for first place and Santos placed second in 1:07.45. The Roadrunners recorded the first three finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke as Gray won in 1:10.33 while
Kiersten Farrell placed second in 1:13.75 and Riccardi placed third in 1:19.64. Misiura grabbed a first-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:22.94 while Davis won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.89 seconds. McCrone placed second in the same event in 28.07 seconds while Liwag placed third in 28.45 seconds. Ramapo grabbed the first three finishes in the 200-yard breaststroke as Gray won in 2:31.41 while Pluckhorn (2:46.46) finished in second and Gleason placed third in 2:50.83.
The Roadrunners return to action at the Metropolitan Conference Championships on February 20th at 9am. The three-day meet is hosted by Rutgers University with finals concluding on the evening of Sunday, February 23rd.
