Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's volleyball team has been selected for the
2019 ECAC Men's Volleyball Championship Tournament. This is the 10th time in program history the team has been selected while they've won five ECAC Championships (2003, 2015, 2006, 2007, 2012).
Juniata College will host the one-day tournament and earned the #1 seed. The Eagles will play #4 seed Misericordia University (20-16) at 11am on Saturday, April 20th. The Roadrunners (15-15), who are tabbed the #3 seed, will take on #2 seed Hunter College (18-13) at 2pm on Saturday afternoon. The two winners of each semi-final match will play at 5pm for the ECAC Championship.
The Roadrunners did not play Hunter College this season but did take on Misericordia and Juniata. Ramapo defeated the Cougars on January 25th, 3-1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-16, 25-19) while the Juniata defeated Ramapo twice at the end of the season. Once in regular season play at Ramapo (3-0, 25-22, 25-22, 25-19) on April 5th and just six days later Juniata held on for a 3-1 (25-27, 25-16, 25-22, 25-18) victory in the CVC Tournament quarterfinal round.
Eric Van Thuyne, who was named CVC First Team All-Conference, leads the Roadrunners with 269 kills this season and 39 aces.
Stephen Codispodo is second with 185 kills while
Conor Charlow is third with 163 kills. Charlow is second on the team with 32 aces while he leads the team with 77 blocks including 28 solo blocks.
Josh Titus has dished out a team high 736 assists while
Tyler Plitt leads the team on defense with 238 digs.
