Box Score 2 Lancaster, PA: The Ramapo College men's volleyball team traveled to Lancaster Bible today for a tri match-up with #12 Lancaster and Elmira. On the day the Roadrunners went 1-1 as they lost to Lancaster and defeated Elmira in a thrilling 3-2 match-up. With the win and loss the Roadrunners stand at 8-9 overall and 2-3 in the conference.
In their first match-up they lost a tough battle to #12 Lancaster, 0-3 (18-25, 21-25, 16-25) as Jason Van Der Wilt led the team collecting six kills. Eric Van Thuyne added five kills and Stephen Codispodo and Conor Charlow each contributed four. The team combined hitting 22-85 with 18 errors hitting .047 in the loss. Josh Titus dished out 17 assists and Tyler Plitt led the defense with 11 digs. Nate Miller was huge offensively for Lancaster collecting 19 of the team's 38 kills. Lancaster hit .193 in the win with Kaleb Ansell dishing out 32 assists. Benjamin Herb picked up seven digs.
Ramapo posted a 3-2 (17-25, 26-24, 20-25, 25-22, 15-7) win against Elmira in the second match of the day as they were led by Codispodo with 16 kills and Van Thuyne with 13. The team went 52-140 with 21 errors hitting .221. Van Der Wilt and Sean Burke each added eight in the win. Titus dished out 47 assists and Plitt led the defense with 13 digs. Codispodo added 11 on the day. For Elmira, Ryan McDonough and Dan Symer each contributed 17 kills as the team went 53-139 with 22 errors hitting .223. Ryan Branigan picked up 28 digs.
Ramapo returned to action on Tuesday, March 5th when they host Rutgers Newark at 7:30pm at the Bradley Center.
