Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's volleyball team earned the #5 seed in the 2019 NJAC Championship Tournament which begins on Tuesday, November 5th. The Roadrunners earn a bid to the tournament for the 14th time under head coach Robert Pichardo.
 
Ramapo will travel to #4 Montclair State University on Tuesday night for a first-round match at 7pm. The other first-round match features #3 Kean University as they host #6 Rutgers-Newark University. The winner of the Ramapo/MSU match will advance to the semifinals against #1 Stockton University while the winner of the Kean/Rutgers-Newark match will advance to play #2 Rowan. Both semifinals will take place on Thursday, November 7th with the winners playing in the NJAC Championship on Saturday, November 9th. All games are at the higher seed.
 
This senior class is no stranger to the NJAC Tournament, having earned a bid in two previous seasons (2016 & 2017). The Roadrunners won the 2016 NJAC regular season and the overall #1 seed before finishing as the NJAC Tournament runner-up.
 
The Roadrunners are led by seniors Morgan Ridgway, Kate Shirkey and Karina Almeda. Ridway has led the team this year with 172 kills, 3.07 per set while Shirkey has dished out a team high 315 assists, 5.53 per set. Almeda has been stellar on defense throughout her career, and this season is no exception. She's recorded a team high 382 digs, 6.59 per set while she recently set a career high 43 digs in a single match.
