Box Score 2 Washington, DC: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team traveled to Gallaudet University today for the two-day Worthington Classic. In the first match of the Classic the Bison defeated the Roadrunners 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 31-29) before they fell to Olivet College in four sets (25-17, 18-25, 24-26, 17-25).
In their first match of the day against Gallaudet (9-7), the Roadrunners fought back in game three before the Bison came away with a 31-29 victory to win the match in three sets. The Bison had two players record double digit kills as Adele Daniels led the way with 15 and Tessa Lewis added 12 kills. Emma Giuntoli recorded 41 assists while she contributed with three aces and six digs. Karita Lewis posted a team high 19 digs on defense while Daniels added 13 digs and three total blocks including two solo blocks. The team tallied 46 kills on 127 attempts with 22 errors to hit .189 in the match.
For the Roadrunners, Morgan Ridway led the team as she recorded eight kills and 11 digs while
Felicia Jimenez posted six kills of her own. Jimenez also tallied three blocks and two digs while
Aniella Bednarz collected seven kills and three blocks.
Hannah Frascella posted a team high 12 digs while she added three digs and one ace.
Anna Granquist collected ten digs on defense for Ramapo while
Samantha Main led the way with five blocks.
In their second match of the day, the Roadrunners (4-12 overall) dropped a four-set match to Olivet College (10-8 overall). Morgan Champion recorded 18 kills and 20 kills, both team highs in the match while Brittney Prince hit .370 overall with 14 kills on 27 attempts and four errors. She also added three aces and five digs. Champion and Drue Mullin led the way with four aces each while Mullin contributed with ten digs on defense. The team hit .219 in the match with 53 kills on 146 attempts and 21 errors.
For the Roadrunners, Frascella led the way with 16 kills as she hit .238 in the match with 42 attempts and six errors. She added nine digs and one block while Ridgway added 12 kills, one ace and a team high 14 digs on defense. Main posted seven kills and one block while
Kristina Semple and Granquist each collected ten digs on defense.
Kate Shirkey dished out a team high 28 assists while she posted 12 digs and one ace. The team hit .194 in the match with 45 kills on 139 attempts and 18 errors.
The Roadrunners return to action at 10am at the Worthington Classic when they take on Dickinson College.
