Mahwah, NJ: The New Paltz Hawks women's swim team defeated Ramapo College 142-116 today in non-conference action. The Hawks improve to 2-1 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 0-5 on the year.
Carissa Campbell won the 1,000-yard freestyle when she posted a time of 11:34.22 while she also won the 500-yard freestyle when she clocked at 5:40.65. The Roadrunners went 1-2 in the 200-yard butterfly.
Fiona Misiura won the event in 2:18.87 while Bree Gleason placed second with a time of 2:27.97.
Madison Riccardi and
Kiersten Farrell placed 2nd (2:48.43) and 3rd (2:53.80) in the 200-yard breaststroke. Misiura continued to shine in the butterfly when she won the 100-yard event. She out touched the Hawks at the wall in 1:01.07 just .16 ahead of the competition.
Paris Fox won the 200-yard IM in 2:25.56 while the 200-yard freestyle relay team placed 2nd overall with a combined time of 1:45.24. The team was made up of
Pamela Santos,
Sarah Stacey, Gleason and
Olivia Davis. The 200-yard medley relay placed 2nd overall in 1:59.07. The team was made up of Campbell,
Eliza Pluckhorn, Misiura and Davis.
The Roadrunners honored their senior class in a pre-meet ceremony. Congratulations and good luck to
Sarah Stacey! Ramapo returns to action on December 15th when they travel to Kean University for a NJAC Conference meet at 1pm.
