Mahwah, NJ: The College of New Jersey women's swim team defeated Ramapo College 174-88 today in NJAC action at Adele and Reuben Thomas Swimming Pool. The Lions improve to 1-1 overall and 1-1 in the conference while the Roadrunners now stand at 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the NJAC.
Fiona Misiura won the 200-yard butterfly when she clocked in with a time of 2:17.02 more than seven seconds faster than the Lions' who came in second and third place in the event. Misiura also finished second overall in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:01.56.
Eliza Pluckhorn out touched TCNJ at the wall to take first place in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:18.77.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the Roadrunners placed second overall with a time of 1:57.04. The team was made up of
Carissa Campbell, Pluckhorn, Misiura and
Paris Fox.
Brittany Goodman placed second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:31.78) before
Kiersten Farrell grabbed a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:08.51. Pluckhorn took home second place in the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.59) and
Grace McCrone posted a time of 1:14.56 in the 100-yard breaststroke. In the 500-yard freestyle, the Roadrunners went 2-3 as Goodman and
Sarah Stacey posted times of 5:42.90 and 5:51.76 respectively.
The Roadrunners return to action when they host Rowan University in a NJAC meet on Saturday, November 10th at 2pm.
