Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's swim team defeated NJAC rival William Paterson University tonight at the Adele and Reuben Thomas swimming pool, 125-60. The Roadrunners improve to 3-6 overall and 2-3 in the NJAC while the Pioneers drop to 11-4 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
To start the meet, the 200-yard medley relay team finished first with a time of 1:54.51. The team was made up of
Julia Housel,
Eliza Pluckhorn,
Meghan Trewhella and
Maggie Herbert.
Madison Riccardi won the 1,000-yard relay by more than seven seconds when she clocked in at 12:11.51 for a first place finish. In the 200-yard freestyle
Breanna Gleason and
Grace McCrone went 1-2 with times of 2:06.55 and 2:09.92 respectively.
Herbert won the 50-yard freestyle when she clocked in at 24.68 while
Kassandra Warmuz placed second in 26.58.
Meghan Trewhella won the 200-yard IM when she clocked in at 2:21.20 while
Kaitlin McGowan won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:37.06. Trewhella won the 100-yard freestyle when she posted a time of 57.25 while
Pamela Santos placed third in 1:01.60. Housel won the 200-yard backstroke when she clocked in at 2:15.19 winning by over six seconds. McCrone out-touched the field in the 500-yard freestyle by more than 13 seconds when she clocked in at 5:46.86, placing first overall.
The women's 200-yard freestyle relay team finished in 1:46.62 and out-touched the competition while Ramapo's finish was not scored. The team was made up of McCrone, Housel, Gleason and Herbert.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, February 3rd at 2pm when they host Drew University in their final home meet of the regular season.
