New Paltz, NY:  The Ramapo College women's swim team dropped a tough non-conference match-up to New Paltz today on the road, 118-143.  The Roadrunners fall to 1-5 overall on the season.
 
Julia Housel, 
Kassandra Warmuz, 
Meghan Trewhella, and 
Maggie Herbert opened the meet winning the 200-yard medley relay as they combined efforts to touch the poolside in 1:54.07.  
Eliza Pluckhorn, Madison Ricciardi, Bree Gleason and 
Grace McCrone placed 4
th overall in 2:06.30 in the same event while 
Kaitlin McGowan placed 2
nd in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:10.41.
 
Sarah Stacey placed 2
nd in the 200-yard freestyle clocking in at 2:10.15 and McCrone placed 4
th with a time of 2:10.78 as Housel placed 1
st in the 100-yard backstroke touching the poolside in 1:01.53.  Warmuz swam the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:13.17 placing 2
nd overall and Gleason won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:25.94. 
Herbert earned a 1
st place ribbon in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.75 seconds while also winning the 100-yard freestyle in 54.64 seconds.  McCrone placed 5
th in the same event with a time of 1:00.44.  Housel took 1
st in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:12.25 and Warmuz and Ricciardi placed back-to-back in the 200-yard breaststroke as Warmuz placed 2
nd in 2:37.88 and Ricciardi in 3
rd with a time of 2:43.42.
 
McCrone earned 3
rd in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:54.21 and McGowan placed 3
rd in the same event in 5:57.2.  Gleason placed 2
nd in the 100-yard butterfly clocking in at 1:03.93 while Trewhella and Pamela Snatos placed 2
nd and 3
rd respectively.  Trewhella clocked in at 1:03.96 and Snatos touched the poolside in 1:08.71.
 
In the 200-yard IM, Pluckhorn placed 2
nd in 2:22.32 and Gleason earned 3
rd in 2:22.42, while Trewhella, Warmuz, Housel and Herbert placed 2
nd overall in the 200-yard freestyle in a combined time of 1:43.63.
 
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, January 20
th when they host NJAC rival Montclair State at 2pm.
