MEN'S VOLLEYBALL HOSTS SKYLINE TRI-MATCH; EARNS TWO WINS

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's volleyball team played host to Mt. St. Vincent and St. Joseph's Brooklyn today in a Skyline Conference tri-match where the Roadrunners came out with two victories to improve to 12-8 overall and 2-0 in conference play.  Ramapo defeated Mt. St. Vincent, 3-0 before dropping St. Joseph's Brooklyn 3-0.  MSV finishes the day at 11-10 overall and 3-1 in the conference while St. Joseph's Brooklyn falls to 2-18 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

In their first match-up of the day the Roadrunners defeated Mt. St. Vincent, 3-1 (27-25, 23-25, 25-14, 28-26) behind offensive hitting performances from Justin Feigeles and Paul Close.  Feigeles hit .279 with 21 kills on 43 attempts and nine errors while Close went 16-38 with eight errors hitting .211.  Connor Brandow collected nine kills and Jordan Elam picked up seven as the team combined for 61-145 with 26 errors hitting .241.  Garrett Fitzsimmons dished out 52 assists and Close collected a double-double as he led the defense with 18 digs.  Fitzsimmons also recorded a double-double adding 11 digs to his assist count and Nick Amos led with eight blocks.  For MSV, Tyler Cucullu led the way with 17 kills and Neven Skobar added eight as the team went 42-138 with 33 errors hitting .065.  Logan Dickover dished out 38 assists and the defense was led by Cucullu with 14 digs gaining a double-double of his own.  Dickover picked up 12 digs and Skoblar added 11 digs of his own. 

In the second match of the day Mt. St. Vincent defeated St. Joseph's Brooklyn, 3-0 (25-8, 25-16, 25-20) behind nine kills from Sean O'Connor and eight from Scott Sawyer.  The team hit a combined 31-99 with 20 errors hitting .111 as Dickover added seven kills of his own.  Dickover dished out 15 assists and Jordan Steiger picked up a team leading 11 digs.  Alec Smalley of St. Joseph's Brooklyn led the team with four kills and Thomas Ambrosino added three.  The team went 11-80 with 16 errors hitting -.062.  Mark Antoun dished out eight assists and Ambrosino picked up a team leading 14 digs.  Smalley grabbed eight digs of his own in the loss.

In the final match-up of the day, Ramapo dropped the Bears, 3-0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-10) behind nine kills from Lue Lallo and seven kills from Eric Van Thuyne.  Brendan Russell and Mack Brower each contributed six kills to the win.  The team hit 37-79 with 15 errors hitting .278.  Lucan Inglis dished out 24 assists and Van Thuyne and Cando each picked up seven digs in the win.  For St. Joseph's, the team combined for ten kills on 64 attempts with 14 errors hitting -0.62.  Smalley led with five kills and Ambrosino added three.  Antoun dished out ten assists and the defense was led by Mark Mlynarski with nine digs.

Ramapo returns to action on Monday, March 20th when they host College of Staten Island at 7pm at the Bradley Center.
