Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team earned their 13th bid to the ECAC Men's Soccer Tournament. The Roadrunners will host Region 3 which includes two opening round games on Saturday, November 12th and a Quarterfinal match-up on Sunday, November 13th.
The Roadrunners (10-4-3) earn the #1 seed in Region 3 and will go up against non-conference rival #4 the College of Staten Island (11-7-2) at 11am on Saturday. The other opening round game is #2 William Paterson University (8-8-2) against #3 Moravian College (8-4-4) at 2pm on Saturday. The two winners will play in the Quarterfinal game on Sunday at 12pm. The winner of the quarterfinal game will move on to play in the semifinals on Saturday, November 19th.
The Roadrunners are led offensively this season by junior
Ryan Campbell. Campbell earned NJAC First Team all-conference honors after recording 12 goals, including three game-winning goals and three game-tying goals. He also tallied four assists for a team high 28 points. Junior
Justin Olaya posted a second best six goals while he added three assists for 15 points. Sophomore
Trevor Albrecht led the team with nine assists this season and posted three goals for 15 points. On defense, senior
Bayley Young and rookies
Justin Charkowski and
Brady White all set the tone for Ramapo this season. Charkowski and Albrecht earned NJAC Honorable Mention all-conference. Junior
Ryan Sprague saw action in over 1500 minutes in the net for the Roadrunners with a goals against average of 1.19. He recorded 81 saves including four shutouts while facing 224 shots.
The Roadrunners have been to the ECAC Semifinal nine times in program history (1995, 1998-2005) while they won the Championship during the 1996 season. This is the sixth time under head coach
DJ Pinton the Roadrunners have earned an ECAC Tournament bid.
