Westfield, MA: The Ramapo College men's basketball team earned a 72-66 win in their season opener tonight at the Rick Martin/Holiday Inn Express Tournament hosted by Westfield State University. The Roadrunners (1-0) will now take on host Westfield State (1-0) in tomorrow's championship game at 3pm.
Ramapo led 29-27 at the half and pulled away in the second half for their first win of the season. Three Roadrunners scored in double figures as
Christopher Moseley led the team with 19 points. Moseley also recorded three rebounds, three steals and one assist.
Thomas Bonacum posted 14 points and a team high seven rebounds.
Josh Ford posted 11 points, three rebounds, and three assists while
James Long added seven points and a team high four assists. The team shot 38% from the field (20-52), 23% (3-13) from beyond the three-point line and 71% (27-38) from the free throw line.
Colby-Sawyer (0-2) was led by Jourdian Bell who collected 18 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals. Dana Bean posted a team high ten rebounds and contributed with four points. Taylor Grande and Milani Hicks added 13 and 11 points respectively. The team shot 37% (22-59) from the field, 28% (7-25) from the three-point line and 65% (15-23) from the free throw line.
