New Paltz, NY: The New Paltz women's swim team defeated Ramapo College 150-107 this afternoon. The Roadrunners suffer their first loss of the season and stand at 2-1 overall while the Hawks earn their first win and improve to 1-1 overall.
Maggie Herbert won the 50-yard freestyle in 25.03 before she out-touched New Paltz in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.06 for her second first place finish of the day.
Brenda Arthur captured a first place finish in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:01.15.
The 400-yard medley relay team made up of
Danielle Bach,
Samantha Chan, Arthur and Herbert placed second overall in 4:11.09.
Veronica Drozdzewicz placed second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:48.06) while she took third in the 500-yard freestyle (5:48.44). In the 100-yard backstroke,
Julia Housel and D. Bach finished in second (1:04.00) and third (1:04.98) respectively. J. Housel also placed second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:18.17 while Chan placed second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:40.23).
The Roadrunners return to action on November 7th when they travel to NJAC rival the College of New Jersey at 1pm.
