Mahwah, NJ: The Lady Roadrunner swim team opened the 2015-2016 season tonight with a 102-66 victory over the Devils of FDU Florham to start the year at 1-0 overall. With the loss the Devils open the season at 0-1.
The 200-yard medley relay team took 1st and 2nd place as
Julia Housel,
Samantha Chan,
Maggie Herbert, and
Sarah Stacey combined efforts to touch the poolside in 1:56.83 for a 1st place ribbon.
Cara Housel,
Brenda Arthur,
Danielle Bach, and
Devan Swistack placed 2nd in the same event in 2:00.23.
Ana Nunez placed 1st in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 12:36.13 and
Tori Barnes placed 2nd in 12:39.69. The 200-yard freestyle went to
Veronica Drozdzewicz in 2:06.83 while the 50-yard free went to Herbert in 24.74.
Caitlyn Bach took 2nd place in 25.82 seconds.
The Lady Roadrunners took 1-3 in the 200-yard IM as
Samantha Chan,
Emily Hegarty, and
Sarah Kynast finished the race in 2:25.41, 2:32.13, and 2:37.82 respectively. Herbert also earned 1st place in the 100-yard butterfly touching the poolside in 1:03.28.
Ramapo wrapped up the evening with a 1-2 placing in the 200-yard free. Arthur, Bach,
Meghan Trewhella, and Stacey finished in 1st place in 1:45.72 and
Lene Sansone,
Maria Luisi,
Fiona Connell, and Drozdzewicz clocked in at 1:50.82.
