WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS HOST VASSAR, FALLS TO MIT

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Poughkeepsie, NY:  The Ramapo College women's volleyball team split their matches at the Vassar College Invitational this afternoon. The Roadrunners now stand at 6-3 overall.

The Roadrunners defeated host Vassar College, 3-2 (25-18, 19-25, 25-14, 26-28, 15-6). Rookie Larysa Iwaskiw earned All-Tournament team for the Roadrunners. In the win over Vassar, Iwaskiw led the team with 24 kills, 18 digs, two aces and one block. Sophomores Emily Guzman and Rachel Selmore tallied nine kills a piece. Guzman added four blocks while rookie Amanda Rose posted eight kills on 12 attempts to hit .500 for the team. Junior Kaitlin Mc Iver dished out 46 assists in the match while she tallied ten digs and three kills. Junior Emily Harris posted 16 digs and a team high five aces while she posted a .917 passing percentage. Sophomore Irmak Dagistanli recorded ten digs of her own in the match. The Roadrunners posted 56 kills in the match as a team and 11 aces.

Against MIT, the Roadrunners fell in three sets (17-25, 16-25, 19-25). Iwaskiw led the team with 13 kills, while she added eight digs and two blocks. Guzman added five kills and one block while Harris tallied a team high 11 digs for the team. Mac Iver dished out 16 assists and 11 digs in the match. Junior Katelyn Ward led the team with three total blocks and added two kills. The Roadrunners tallied 23 kills in the match to MIT's 45.

Ramapo returns to action at the Roadrunner Invitational on Friday, September 12th. They will take on Mount Saint Vincent at 7pm.
