Box Score 2 Poughkeepsie, NY: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team defeated the College of Mount Saint Vincent, 3-1 (25-12, 25-11, 25-27, 25-11) before they fell to New Paltz in match two of the night, 0-3 (7-25, 25-27, 20-25) at the Vassar College Invitational.
The Roadrunners now stand at 5-2 overall and will return to the Vassar College Invitational tomorrow morning. They will take on the host Vassar College at 11am on court one before going against Massachusetts Institute of Technology on court two at 1pm. In their first match against CMSV, rookie
Larysa Iwaskiw led the Roadrunners against CMSV with 25 kills on 42 attempts, hitting .476 in the match. She also recorded two aces and five digs. Sophomore
Emily Guzman posted 12 kills, three aces and two blocks while junior
Cathryn Smart added five kills of her own. Junior
Kaitlin Mac Iver dished out a team high 38 assists while she tallied ten digs. Junior
Emily Harris led the team with 12 digs of her own. The Roadrunners hit .250 as a team in the match and recorded 51 kills. CMSV collected 20 kills, 30 digs and three aces in the match.
In the loss to New Paltz, Iwaskiw led the Roadrunners once again with 17 kills, seven digs and one block. Mac Iver dished out a team high 23 assists while
Natalia Saavedra and Harris posted a team high eight digs. Guzman and Mac Iver posted two blocks each. The Roadrunners collected 29 kills in the match. New Paltz pounded out 12 aces and recorded 55 digs in the win along with 34 kills.
