Box Score 2 Bethlehem, PA: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team went 2-0 today as they defeated Alvernia University, 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-19), before downing Emmanual, 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-14). With the two victories on day two of the Greyhound Invitational, Ramapo opens the season at 3-1 overall.
Larysa Iwaskiw led the Roadrunners with 11 kills hitting .292, while
Rachel Selmore chipped in five kills in the team's 3-0 shutout. The team went 26-86 with 11 errors hitting .174 on the day. Iwaskiw also led the team's defense with 12 digs and
Kaitlin Mac Iver chipped in 11 digs, while adding 12 assists.
Nicole Herrmann led the team with 13 assists.
In their second match-up of the day verse Emmanual, Iwaskiw again led the team with 17 kills, while Selmore added 11 to the mix. The Roadrunners hit a combined .254 with 41 kills on 122 attempts and ten errors. Iwaskiw picked up 20 digs and Selmore added 17, while Mac Iver added 15 to the mix. Mac Iver led the team with 31 assists in the win.
For her efforts on the weekend, Iwaskiw was named to the Greyhound Invitational All-Tournament Team.
Ramapo returns to action on September 3rd when they travel to Mount Saint Mary College for a 7pm match-up.
