MEN'S VOLLEYBALL FALLS IN CONFERENCE FINALS

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Union, NJ:  The #2 seeded Ramapo College men's volleyball team wrapped up the 2014 season tonight with a tough loss, 1-3 (25-22, 19-25, 22-25, 24-26) to the #1 seeded Cougars of Kean University, in the final match-up of the Skyline Conference Championship Tournament.  Earlier in the day, the Roadrunners defeated #3 Mt. St. Vincent, 3-0 (25-21,27-25,25-15)) to earn a spot in the championship match.  Ramapo wraps up the year at 25-11 overall, and 12-2 in the conference.  Kean earns the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Championships and improves to 26-7 on the year.
 
In their first match-up of the day, the Roadrunners defeated #3 Mt. St. Vincent, 3-0 (25-21, 27-25, 25-15) behind nine kills from rookie Ryan Casci and eight from fellow rookie Ahjon Petty.  Casci hit .667 while the team combined for 44 kills on 96 attempts with 19 errors, hitting .260 in the win.  Senior setter Andrew Balint dished out 22 assists while Alec Weissman took over setting duties in the third set, collecting 15 of his own.  The team's defense was led by Brian Colabella who collected eight digs.  Tyler Cucullu led the Dolphins with 11 kills as the tyeam went 23-74 with 14 errors hitting .122.  James DiGiovanni dished out 20 assists and Cucullu and TJ Barczik each picked up 11 digs.
 
Against the top seeded Cougars, Petty led the offense with 14 kills, while Casci and Nick Hrehovcik collected 13 and ten respectively.  The team combined hitting .147 with 52 kills on 136 attempts and 32 errors.  Balint dished out 48 assists and rookie libero Kurt MacDonald picked up a team leading 12 digs on defense.  Hrehovcik and Balint each collected 11 digs of their own.  Bez Arsiani, named tournament Most Outstanding Player, led the Cougars with 21 kills hitting .326.  The team went 52-129 with 17 errors hitting .271 in the win.  Ron Dunn dished out 43 assists and Arsiani led the defense with 11 digs for the double-double.
