Box Score 2 Riverdale, NY: The Ramapo College men's volleyball team picked up two wins in Skyline action today as they defeated the Dolphins of Mt. St. Vincent, 3-1 (25-20, 25-19, 22-25, 25-22), and the Panthers of Purchase College, 3-0 (25-12, 25-11, 25-21). Ramapo improves to 21-8 overall and 9-1 in the conference.
In their first match-up against Mt. St. Vincent, senior
Nick Hrehovcik and rookie
Ahjon Petty each collected nine digs, while
Mike Kane put away eight kills of his own. The team hit a combined .206 with 50 kills on 141 attempts with 21 errors. Senior setter
Andrew Balint dished out 33 assists, while he collected four kills hitting .500 in the win. Hrehovcik led the defense with 17 digs and Petty and rookie libero Kurt Maconald each added 11 apiece. Petty and rookie
Nick Amos each recorded three total blocks on the day.
Rookie
Connor Brandow led Ramapo in their second match-up of the day with Purchase, as he put away eight kills. Amos added five and fellow rookie
Jake Matreale added five of his own, as the team put away a combined 36 kills on 73 attempts with 14 errors hitting .301.
Alec Weissman led in the setting duties with 20 assists and Balint added 11, while
Peter Desvousges and
Ryan Casci each picked up four digs to lead the team's defense. Hrehovcik collected three service aces in the win.
Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday, April 2nd when they travel to Kean University for a Skyline Conference match-up at 7pm.
