Box Score Mahwah, NJ: Ramapo College played host to the #8 ranked Ducks of the Stevens Institute of Technology tonight in a non-conference men's volleyball match-up. Behind 18 kills from Gabe Shankweiler, the Ducks came out on top, 3-1 (25-18, 24-26, 25-20, 25-20) to improve to 15-7 overall on the year. Ramapo falls to 18-8 overall.
Shankweiler led the Ducks with 18 kills hitting .326 as the team combined hitting .262 with 56 kills on 145 attempts with 18 errors. Chris Vaughan collected 11 kills and Kevin Aeckerle dished out a team leading 47 assists. Dylan Schlosser led the defense with 17 digs. Aeckerle picked up 14 digs and Vaughan added 13.
Stevens took game one, 25-18, behind five kills from Shankweiler. Shankweiler hit .667 in the first set, as the team hit a combined .400 with 16 kills on 30 attempts and only four errors. Alexander Carpenter and John Eddins each picked up three kills in the game one win. Aeckerle dished out a team high 15 assists and Vaughan picked up four digs leading the defense. Ramapo's
Brian Colabella led the Roadrunners with four kills hitting .333. Ramapo went 12-28 with five errors hitting .250.
Andrew Balint collected ten assists and the team's defense was led by Balint with four digs.
The Roadrunners fought back to take the second set, 26-24 as they collected 17 kills on 42 attempts with six errors, hitting .262. Rookie

Mike Kane chipped in four of his own. Balint assisted on 15 plays and rookie libero
Kurt MacDonald, picked up ten digs in the win. The Ducks combined for 11 kills with five errors on 44 attempts hitting .136. Shankweiler collected a team leading four kills and Vaughan added three. Aeckerle dished out nine assists, while picking up four digs. Schlosser picked up four digs of his own in the second set loss.
Ramapo fell behind two sets to one after the Ducks took game three, 25-20. Shankweiler again led the Ducks with five kills, while Daniel Smith added four of his own. The team combined hitting .233 with 15 total kills on 43 attempts and five errors. Aeckerle dished out ten assists and picked up seven digs, while Schlosser picked up a team leading eight digs in the win. Petty led Ramapo with three kills as the team was held to just nine kills on 43 with five errors hitting .093. Balint collected six assists and MacDonald again led the way with seven digs.
The Ducks took the match with a set four, 25-20 win. Shankweiler and Vaughan collected four kills each leading the team as they combined for 14 kills on 28 attempts with four errors hitting .357. Aeckerle dished out 13 assists and Schlosser led the defense with four digs. Ramapo went 11-26 with five errors hitting .231. Kane led the team with four kills and
Nick Hrehovcik added three, while Balint dished out 11 assists in the loss.
Petty led Ramapo with 13 kills and Colabella and Kane each added 11, while Balint collected 42 assists. MacDonald picked up 20 digs leading the team's defense. Hrehovcik added 11 digs. The team hit a combined .201 with 49 kills on 139 attempts with 21 errors.
The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow night, when they take on Mt. St. Vincent at 7pm at the Bradley Center.
