RAMAPO GETS ONE FROM THIEL; FALLS TO CARTHAGE

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Kenosha, WI:  The Ramapo College men's volleyball team opened the day with a 3-2 (25-18, 25-18, 16-25, 26-28, 15-13) win over Thiel College, before dropping a tough, 3-1 (14-25, 16-25, 27-25, 9-25) decision to #4 Carthage on the final day of the 2014 Carthage Men's Volleyball Tournament.  With the win and the loss, the Roadrunners stand at 16-7 overall.

In the opening match of the day, rookie, Ahjon Petty led the team collecting 17 kills, while seniors Nick Hrehovcik and Mike Kane chipped in 14 and 11 of their own respectively.  The team combined hitting .264 with 59 kills on 140 attempts with 22 errors.  Senior setter Andrew Balint dished out 51 assists and rookie libero Kurt MacDonald led the team on defense with 14 digs.  Balint picked up 11 digs and Nick Amos and Kane put away a team leading four blocks each.  Balint also led the team with three service aces.   Hrehovcik picked up seven digs in the win.

Against nationally ranked Carthage (#4), the team combined for 39 kills, and were led offensively by Petty with 15.  All other Roadrunners were held to single digit kills, Hrehovcik with eight and Kane and Brian Colabella with six each.  Balint took control of setting duties once again dishing out 30 assists, while MacDonald led the way once again on defense with ten digs.  Balint picked up six digs of his own. 

The Roadrunners head to River Forest, Illinois on Tuesday, March 18th when they take on Dominican University at 4pm, and MSOE at 6pm.
