MEN'S VOLLEYBALL DROPS TWO AT CARTHAGE TOURNAMENT

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Kenosha, WI:  The Ramapo College men's volleyball team fell to non-conference rivals Baruch College, and Nazareth College today, on day one of the 2014 Carthage Men's Volleyball Tournament.  In their opening match-up, Ramapo fell short, 3-2 (25-15, 20-25, 18-25, 25-13, 18-16) to #14 Baruch, before dropping a 3-1 (25-22, 20-25, 24-26, 22-25) decision to #7 Nazareth College.  With the two losses, Ramapo falls to 15-6 overall, heading into tomorrow's match-ups verse Thiel and Carthage at noon and 6pm respectively.

Mike Kane hit .444 in the team's first match-up of the day with ten kills on 18 attempts, while Brian Colabella collected ten kills of his own. Ahjon Petty led the team with 12 kills and Nick Hrehovcik added nine kills and seven digs.  Rookie libero, Kurt MacDonald, led the team with 16 digs in the match. Andrew Balint dished out a team high 38 assists, while Nick Amos and Balint posted four assisted blocks and three aces a piece.

In their second match-up of the day, Petty collected a team high 22 kills on 51 attempts as the team went 51-144 with 27 errors, hitting .167 in the loss.  Colabella added ten kills and Balint dished out a team high 43 assists.  Petty put away three service aces while Colabella picked up nine digs of his own on defense.
