Box Score 2 Jersey City, NJ: The Ramapo College men's volleyball team posted two Skyline Conference victories today, first over the Gothic Knights of New Jersey City University 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-23), before earning a second sweep over Yeshiva University, 3-0 (25-20, 25-7, 25-11). With the two road victories the Roadrunners improve to 8-3 overall and 3-0 in the conference.
Behind six kills from rookie
Ryan Casci, the Roadrunners combined for 36 kills to defeat NJCU in the opening match of the day. Ramapo hit a combined .211 with their 36 kills on 95 attempts and 16 errors. Jake Matreala and
Evan Carey each contributed five kills to the win, while
Alec Weissman and
Andrew Balint shared setting duties combining for 32 assists.
Peter Desvousges led the team's defense with five digs.
In the team's second win of the day over Yeshiva University, rookie
Connor Brandow collected 18 kills on 35 attempts with only three errors, hitting .429, while Matreala hit a team leading .636 with seven kills on 11 attempts and no errors. The team went 43-96 with 16 errors, hitting .281 in the win. Weissman contributed 36 assists and Desvousges led the team once again on defense with 12 digs.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, February 19th when they travel to NYU-Polytechnic for a 7pm match-up.
