Ahjon Petty, the Ramapo College men's volleyball team defeated Sage College, 3-0 (25-11, 25-19, 25-15), in their 2014 Skyline Conference season opener in Kahl Gym. With the 3-0 sweep, the Roadrunners improve to 5-2 overall and 1-0 in the league, while Sage falls to 0-5 overall and 0-1 in the league.
Petty collected 13 kills to lead the Roadrunners hitting .556 as the team combined for 37 kills on 70 attempts hitting .357. Petty added five digs and three aces in the win. Senior
Chris Sidnam added seven kills on the night, while senior
Brian Colabella contributed six kills and five digs of his own. Rookie
Kurt MacDonald led the defense with a match-high 14 digs, while senior setter
Andrew Balint dished out 30 assists.
For the Gators, senior Dylan Krowicki recorded six kills with two digs, while fellow senior Connor Thompson added six kills of his own. Cory Gransbury led the team with 13 digs for the Gators and senior setter Matthew DeGeyter assisted on 16 points while adding ten digs.
Ramapo returns to action on Thursday, February 13th when they travel to NYU for a 7 pm match-up.
