EMANUEL NETS CAREER HIGH IN WIN OVER KEAN

Box Score Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's basketball team defeated NJAC rival Kean University tonight at the Bradley Center, 81-67. The Roadrunners improve to 8-11 overall, 5-7 in the NJAC while the Cougars fall to 10-7 overall, 6-7 in the conference.

Jermaine Emanuel netted a career high 33 points as he sank five three pointers and shot 50% from the field (10-20). He also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out three assists. Terry Hicks collected a season high 25 points on the night as he connected on six three pointers. George Sapp added nine points and three rebounds in the win. Frank Nock led the team with ten rebounds, while Elvonney Poole and Emanuel each collected eight of their own. Ramapo shot 39% (23-59) from the field, 48% (12-25) from beyond the three point line and 88% (23-26) from the foul line. Ramapo out rebounded Kean, 48-36 in the game.

The Roadrunners opened up the game with a 10-0 run over the first six minutes. Kean shrunk the lead to six, 12-6, with 12:54 on the clock, before Hicks sank back-to-back threes, extending the lead to 18-6 (11:41). Ramapo led by 11, before Kean went on a 7-0 run, cutting the lead to four, 25-21. Emanuel then hit a three pointer, 28-22, with 5:47 on the clock. Kean's Michael Burton hit a three (3:46) to come within three, 30-33, before Ramapo went on an 8-0 run to close the half. Emanuel sank a three of his own, the final basket of the half, to take an 11 point lead heading into the locker room up, 41-30.

Ramapo went up by as many as 16 in the first three minutes of the second half, before Kean went on a 14-2 run to come within four, 47-51, with 14:50 on the clock. Ramapo would take back a seven point lead, before Kean would cut the lead to one, 60-61, on a three from JJ Hladik, with 7:07 left in the game. Ramapo used a 12-3 run to take back a ten point lead (2:47). The run was started by a made basket from Tyler Barnes, and capped off with a jumper from Hicks to put Ramapo in the lead, 75-65. Ramapo led by ten once again down the stretch as the two teams traded baskets, 77-67. The Roadrunners scored the final six baskets of the game at the foul line to come away with an 81-67 win.

Burton led the Cougars with 20 points, while Tommy Soulias and Kyle Latorre each totaled 13 points on the night. Kean shot 38% (27-70) from the field, 33% (9-33) from beyond the three point line, and 36% (4-11) from the foul line.

The Roadrunners return to action this Saturday when they host NJAC rival, The College of New Jersey, at 3pm.
