LADY ROADRUNNERS CRUISE BY WILLIAM PATERSON

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's swim team cruised by the Pioneers of William Paterson, 166-92 tonight in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up at the Bradley Center.  It was all Ramapo tonight as the Roadrunners took 1st place in ten out of the 14 events on the evening.  With the victory the Roadrunners improve to 4-4 overall and 1-2 in the conference.

Maggie Nagle, Allie Van Glahn, Brenda Arthur, and Megan Fosko started the night off with a 1st place finish in the 400-yard medley relay touching the pool side in 4:21.06 for 11 points.  Ana Nunez took 1st in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:58.03, before Fosko and Kari Lefebvre went one-two in the 200-yard freestyle.  Fosko collected nine points clocking in at 2:09.88, while Lefebvre tallied four points with the 2nd place finish in 2:10.27.

Nagle and Fosko went one-two in the 100-yard backstroke clocking in at 1:06.17 and 1:07.89 respectively.  Jamie Ann Stein won the 200-yard butterfly and Victoria Schon followed in 2nd place, while Nagle and Cara Housel finished one-two in the 200-yard backstroke.  Stein finished the butterfly race in 2:24.75 and Schon clocked in at 2:35.19, while Nagle touched the pool side in 2:22.78 in the backstroke.  Housel finished the race in 2:25.92. 

Nunez took 1st in the 500-yard free in 5:51.86 and Arthur won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:03.51, while Stein came in 2nd clocking in with a time of 1:05.37.

Arthur and Schon placed 1st and 2nd respectively in the 400-yard IM, finishing the race in 5:01.25 and 5:23.13 respectively, while Lefebvre, Fosko, Nagle, and Arthur combined efforts for the final race of the night, the 200-yard freestyle relay, placing 1st in 1:48.84.

William Paterson's Vera Blazevska took 1st place in the 100-yard breaststroke clocking in at 1:12.46, while Van Glahn came in seconds behind for Ramapo in 1:14.06.  Brittany English took the 50-yard free sprint in 27.66 seconds, while also taking 1st in the 100-yard freestyle race in 59.96.  Lefebvre touched the pool side a split second later in 59.97, earning 2nd place and four points for the Roadrunners.  Pioneer Blazevska earned her team nine additional points in the 200-yard breaststroke placing 1st in a time of 2:33.50.

The Roadrunners will return to action on Saturday, February 1 when they travel to Rowan University for a 2pm NJAC match-up.
