STOCKTON TAKES DOWN RAMAPO IN NJAC ACTION

Box Score Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's basketball team dropped a 69-90 decision today to the Ospreys of Richard Stockton College in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up at the Bradley Center.  With the loss the Roadrunners fall to 7-9 overall, and 4-5 in the conference.  The Ospreys get their 13th win of the year to improve to 13-2.  They jump to 7-2 in the NJAC.

Josh Blamon led the Ospreys with 18 points hitting 6-10 from the floor, including two three-pointers, while Myles Reuben and Rameel Johnson collected 15 and 14 points respectively.  The team combined hitting 30-58 (52%) in the win.  Kevin Johnson dished out five assists and grabbed three steals and Nnamdi Usuwa pulled down a team high seven boards on the day.

Frank Nock led Ramapo with 14 points hitting 4-12 from the field as the team combined hitting 22-62 (36%).  Terry Hicks, Jermaine Dunkins and Tyler Barnes each added ten points to the game. 
 
In the first half, the Roadrunners fell behind 22-45 after sinking only seven field goals, hitting 7-27 (26%) from the floor.  Stockton collected 15 field goals as a team, going 15-29 (52%), behind ten points from Blamon.  Reuben collected nine points and Johnson added eight.  The Ospreys nailed down the first basket of the game and never looked back as they stretched their lead to as many as 23, which came with 39 seconds left, when James Williams nailed a deep three-point goal.  It took just under 12 minutes for the Ospreys to spread their lead to double-digit figures, which they held onto until the halftime buzzer. 

In the second, it was Stockton who controlled the play stretching to a 30-point lead at 10:55, when Usuwa capitalized on an and-one play to go up, 66-36.  The closest the Roadrunners would come was with 2:21 to play in the game, Dunkins drained back-to-back three point goals to close the gap, 68-85.  But it wasn't enough as the Ospreys worked to a 21-point, 90-69, advantage at the buzzer.  Blamon led the Ospreys with eight points in the half as the team went 15-29 (52%).  Dunkins led Ramapo with ten points in the half.  Ramapo went 15-35 (43%) in the final 20 minutes of play.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, January 22nd when they travel to New Jersey City for an 8pm tip.  Stockton will take on NJAC rival Kean University on Wednesday, January 22 at 8pm in Pomona.
