Box Score Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's basketball team posted a come-from-behind 14-point New Jersey Athletic Conference victory today over the Profs of Rowan University, to improve to 6-8 overall and 4-4 in the conference. With the loss Rowan falls to 7-8 overall and 2-6 in the conference.

Loren Jackson sparked a 7-0 run to put Ramapo up 12, and the Roadrunners never looked back as they defeated the Profs, 78-64. Jackson and
Jermaine Emanuel led the Roadrunners with 14 points each, and
Terry Hicks collected 13, as the team shot a combined 30-68 (44%) from the field. Jackson pulled down a team leading 12 rebounds for the double-double and
George Sapp dished out five assists. Emanuel grabbed three steals in the win.
The Roadrunners fell behind 27-35 at the half after the Profs gained control with 10:25 to play, when a layup from Kris O'Connor sparked a 6-0 Rowan run to jump ahead 17-11. Just under four minutes later, the Profs found themselves with a double-digit lead, 29-19, when two free throws from Tim McDaniels put the team up ten over Ramapo. Rowan would push their lead to 12 on two occasions in the remainder of the half, the first coming at 4:29 when a layup from Jason Sofman put the Profs up, 31-19. With 2:20 to play, Matt Whitworth sank two free throws to go up, 35-23. Ramapo had a small offensive spark in the final two minutes to come within eight, heading into the locker room behind Rowan, 27-35. Jackson hit a layup at 1:45 and Emanuel closed out the half with two free throws with 39 seconds to play. Phil Jackson led the Profs with eight points and Rich McNamara added seven as the team combined hitting 12-31 (39%) from the floor. Ramapo went 10-37 (27%) in the first half behind eight points from Emanuel.

The second half was all Ramapo as the team went 20-31 from the field shooting 65%. Rowan held a slight lead until 17:16 when a three-point goal from Emanuel tied the game at 37. Over the next seven minutes the two teams traded baskets, with the game knotting three times and the lead changing on seven occasions. But with 10:56 to go, Jackson's basket would give the Roadrunners the momentum they needed to take the NJAC game from the Profs. The closest the Profs would come was seven when with 5:55 to play, Jason Sofman hit a two-point basket to close the gap, 55-62. Ramapo would spread their lead to their biggest of the game (17) at 2:54 with a basket from Sapp. Sapp led the Roadrunners with ten second half points and Jackson and Hicks each collected nine. Rowan's O'Connor led the way with 14 points in the final half of play.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, January 15th when they travel to William Paterson for a 8:00pm tip. Rowan takes on Richard Stockton College in Pomona at 8:00pm.
