Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team opened the 2013 NJAC conference season with a 3-0 (25-9, 25-21, 25-14) win over Rutgers-Newark University tonight at the Bradley Center.
The Roadrunners improve to 6-4 overall, 1-0 in the NJAC while the Scarlet Raiders fall to 4-3 overall, 0-1 in the conference.
Ramapo was led by rookie Rachel Selmore who put down 12 kills while junior Sarah Pendleton added seven kills of her own. Selmore added 11 digs while Pendleton posted a hitting percentage of .389 in the match along with six digs and two blocks. Sophomore Cathryn Smart led the team with four aces while sophomore Emily Harris posted a team high 12 digs. Sophomore Kaitlin Mac Iver dished out a team high 18 assists and sophomore Patricia Bergamasco collected 11 assists.
The Roadrunners return to action when they travel to NJAC rival Richard Stockton College on September 26th at 7pm.
