Box Score 2 New York, NY: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team opened with the 2013 at the NYU Labor Day Invitational hosted by New York University at Coles Sports Center.
The Roadrunners dropped their first two matches of the season to Hunter College, 1-3 (22-25, 25-17, 18-25, 10-25) and the College at Brockport, 1-3 (25-23, 19-25, 25-22, 19-25).
In match one against Hunter, rookie
Rachel Selmore led the team with 13 kills while junior Sarah Pendelton and sophomore
Cathryn Smart each added six kills. Sophomore
Kaitlin Mac Iver dished out 15 assists in the match while Selmore led the team in digs with 11.
In match two against Brockport, Selmore once again led the team with 16 kills as she hit .267 in the match. Sophomore
Emily Harris posted a team high 20 digs while Selmore added 11 of her own. Pendleton and rookie
Emily Guzman added five kills and four kills respectively.
The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow morning at 10am at the NYU Labor Day Invitational when they take on Simpson College. Following pool play the invitational will move to a playoff round.
