HICKS LEADS RAMAPO OVER FARMINGDALE

Box Score Mahwah, NJ:  Ramapo College defeated Farmingdale State, 86-73 in a non-conference men's basketball match-up tonight at the Bradley Center to improve to 4-3 overall on the year.  The Roadrunners hand the Rams only their second loss of the season, falling to 4-2.

Four Roadrunners scored in double-digit figures as the Roadrunners downed the Rams by a 13-point margin, holding the lead for the entire game except two quick ties in the opening minutes, and a close call one-point spread in the second half.  Terry Hicks led Ramapo with 16 points and Frank Nock and Jermaine Emmanuel each collected 13 of their own in the win.  Rookie George Sapp rounded out the top scoring performers as he collected 12 points on the night.  The team hit a combined 29-68 (43%) in the win.  Emmanuel led with five assists and Nock grabbed four steals.

In the first half, the scored was tied on two occasions and Ramapo held the lead the remainder of the 20 minutes, grabbing their biggest lead of 11 on five instances.  With 9:15 on the clock, Thomas Bonacum nailed a two-point goal to go up 29-18, to cap off a 9-2 Ramapo run.  Bonacum again gave the Roadrunners an 11-point advantage under two minutes later with another two-point goal, before Jermaine Emmanuel hit a basket of his own to put Ramapo up 33-22 with 6:47 to play. Hicks put Ramapo up 11 for the fourth time in the half, this time with a two-point goal and 5:35 to play.  The Rams would string together a 9-3 run to come within five points, but it wasn't enough as Ramapo responded with a 6-0 run, to jump ahead 47-36 with just over one minute to play.  Farmingdale's Jonathan Annan sparked the offensive gain for the Rams with a long three at 5:04, and Nock collected two points sparking Ramapo's three-basket run.  The two teams headed into the locker room with nine points between them, Ramapo on top 47-38.  The Roadrunners shot 49% as a team, behind 11 points from Emmanuel.  Nock contributed nine points in the half.  Annan led the Rams with 16 points hitting 6-9 from the field, as the team combined for a 16-26 (62%) shooting performance. 

In the second half, an 8-0 run sparked at 16:49 by Terence Henderson, put the Rams within two points, 47-49, and another Henderson basket just under one minute later, closed the gap to one-point, 50-51 with 14:38 to play.  The Roadrunners responded with an 8-0 run of their own to take a 59-51 advantage, before spreading the gap to 16 (79-63), their biggest lead of the game, with just 1:17 left on the clock.  The Rams would push to come within 11, 73-84 with 24 ticks left, but it wasn't enough as the Roadrunners closed out the win with two free throws from Nock.  Sapp collected 12 second half points and Hicks chipped in ten, as the team went 9-27 (33%) from the floor.  Henderson put away a team-high 20 points in the half.  The Rams shot 48% hitting 13-27 as a team.

For the Rams, Henderson led the team with 26 points and Annan collected 23, as the team hit 29-53 (55%).  Annan dished out seven assists and Justin Bailey pulled down a team-high seven rebounds in the loss.

The Roadrunners return to action on Thursday, December 12th when they travel to the College of Staten Island for a 7:30pm tip-off.
