Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's swim team defeated the College of New Rochelle, 140-87 today at the Adele & Reuben Thomas Swimming Pool on the Mahwah campus. With the victory, the Roadrunners improve to .500, standing at 2-2 overall on the year.
Ramapo opened the meet taking first and second in the 200-yard medley, behind combined efforts from
Cara Housel,
Allie Van Glahn, Jamie Ann Stein, and
Kari Lefebvre, who placed first in 1:35.84.
Brianne Bishop,
Jill Tracey,
Tori Barnes, and
Kylie Suydam placed second overall touching the pool side in 2:15.98.
Ana Nunez placed first in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 12:08.00, while Lefebvre and Suydam came in first and second respectively in the 200-yard free. Lefebvre clocked in at 2:05.48, while Suydam finished the race in 2:12.71.
Housel earned first place in the 100-yard backstroke hitting the pool side in 1:08.43, and
Maggie Nagle earned a first place ribbon in the 100-yard breaststroke finishing the race in 1:14.19. Housel also finished the 200-yard backstroke in 2:30.39 for another first place finish.
The 50-yard freestyle sprint went to Ramapo's
Lauren Keller who clocked in at 25.61. Keller also placed second in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing the race in 56.07.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, November 16th when they host the University of Scranton at 2:00pm at the Adele & Reuden Thomas Swimming Pool.
