Box Score Montclair, NJ:  The #4 Montclair State University women's volleyball team defeated #5 Ramapo College tonight in the first round of the 2013 NJAC Tournament, 3-0 (29-27, 25-13, 25-21).

With the first round victory the Red Hawks (19-11) advance to the Semi-finals where they will take on #1 Richard Stockton College on November 7th at 7pm. The Roadrunners even their overall record to 16-16 and will wait to see if they earned a bid to the 2013 ECAC Volleyball Tournament, which will be announced late Monday afternoon.

In the match, the Roadrunners were led by rookie Rachel Selmore who posted 12 kills and eight digs. Junior Sara Pendleton tallied seven kills, three digs and one block. Rookie Emily Guzman added six kills, two digs and two total blocks while sophomore Kaitlin Mac Iver dished out a team high 30 assists while she posted eight digs. Rookie Natalia Saavedra led the team on defense with 14 digs while sophomore Emily Harris tallied 11 digs of her own.

For MSU, Melissa Terpstra pounded out a match high 22 kills on 62 attempts while Marta Topor added 11 kills of her own. Angela Campo dished out 39 assists and Kaitlyn Irwin posted a match high 28 digs.
