Box Score Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team defeated NJAC rival Kean University tonight at the Bradley Center, 3-2 (12-25, 24-26, 26-24, 25-10, 15-12).
The Roadrunners (10-8, 3-1 NJAC) came back to defeat the Cougars (17-7, 3-2 NJAC) in a thrilling five-set match after falling in the first two sets.
Ramapo was led by junior
Sara Pendleton who posted a team high 14 kills and five total blocks. Sophomore
Cathryn Smart added 13 kills, six digs and two blocks while rookie
Emily Guzman posted a team high six total blocks including three solo blocks. She also collected six kill and two aces.
Rookie
Rachel Selmore added six kills of her own along with 13 digs while sophomore
Kaitlin Mac Iver dished out a team high 36 assists. Mac Iver posted 11 digs while sophomore
Emily Harris led the team on defense with 17 digs in the match along with three assists.
Kean had two Cougars post double digit kill totals in the match. Jen Espinal and Kaitliyn Hansen each had 12 and 11 kills respectively. Elizabeth DeGroot recorded a match-high 21 digs for Kean.
The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow night when they travel to the Coast Guard Invitational for a two day tournament. They take on Bridgewater State University at 5pm tomorrow night before going up against Worchester State University at 9am and host Coast Guard at 11am on Saturday.
