Montclair, NJ: The Ramapo College women's swim team dropped a tough, 144-116 decision today to the Red Hawks of Montclair State. With the loss Ramapo falls to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
Lauren Keller took home three first place ribbons in individual events, and joined forces with fellow Roadrunners to place 1st in the 200-yard medley relay, but it wasn't enough for the Roadrunners as they were defeated by the Red Hawks on the road.
Keller placed 1st in the 200-yard freestyle touching the pool side in 2:02.62, while also finishing in 1st place in the 50-yard freestyle sprint in 25.69. It took 56.16 seconds for Keller to finish the 100-yard free race earning an additional nine points for Ramapo with her third 1st place finish.
Keller joined forces with
Maggie Nagle,
Megan Fosko, and Brenda Slayzak in the 200-yard medley relay, finishing 1st overall in 1:57.70, while Nagle finished in 1st place in the 200-yard backstroke touching the pool side in 2:20.33 for nine points. Nagle earned four points and 2nd place in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking in at 2:04.54.
Kylie Suydam placed 2nd in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:41.92 and teamed up with
Devan Swistack, Fosko, and
Erika Vance in the 400-yard free, placing 1st overall in 4:04.87.
The Roadrunners return to action on January 29th when they travel to William Paterson for a 5pm match-up in Wayne, NJ.
