Box Score Newburgh, NY: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team fell on the road to non-conference rival Mount Saint Mary College, 0-3 (21-25, 20-25, 24-26). The Roadrunners start the 2012 season off 0-1 while the Blue Knights pick up their first win as they stand at 1-4.
For Ramapo,
Cathryn Smart led the team with nine kills and 17 digs while
Julia Tuzio tallied six kills, two assists and 14 digs.
Kaitlin Mac Iver dished out a team high 16 assists while she recorded two service aces and four digs.
Emily Harris led the team with 18 total digs while
Katelyn Ward led the team with five solo blocks.
Mount Saint Mary's Mary Ann Raftery led both teams with ten kills while Kayla Kurka and Natalie Candarelli each tallied six of their own. Lauren Halverson posted a match high 26 assists and six service aces while Jen Gries led the team with 14 digs.
The Roadrunners return to action this weekend when they travel to the Panther Volleyball Invitational sponsored by ECONO LODGE by Choice Hotels hosted by Old Westbury. The Roadrunners will take on Bridgewater State on Saturday at noon before they take on Maritime at 2pm.
