MEN'S VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO NEW PALTZ, 3-2

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's volleyball team dropped a tough five set match to non-conference rival New Paltz, 3-2 (25-21, 22-25, 25-22, 25-27, 15-17). The Roadrunners fall to 18-12 while the Hawks improve to 19-10.

The Roadrunners will return to action on Saturday when they go up against New Jersey City University in the Skyline Conference Tournament Semifinals at Kean University at 3:30 PM. The Championship is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM.

The Roadrunners tallied 68 kills (.276 hitting %) in the match to the Hawks 66 (.258 hitting %). Colin McNeill hit .704 in the match as he pounded out 21 kills on 27 attempts with four blocks to lead the Roadrunners. Jeff Jones tallied 15 kills, two service aces and six digs while Paul Konopacki added 11 kills, two assists and 16 digs. Andrew Balint dished out a team high 53 assists while Aaron Kerschner recorded a team high 17 digs. Mike Hrehovcik posted a perfect passing percentage with 15 attempts, one dig, two assists and one service ace.

Ramapo honored their three seniors tonight in a special ceremony, captain Colin McNeill, captain Mike Hrehovcik and Paul Konopacki.

For the Hawks, Brian Smith tallied 21 kills while Mike Van Tyne added in 14 kills of his own. Misa Garo dished out 56 assists while Smith posted 13 digs in the match.
