Hoboken, NJ:  The #14 Ramapo College men's volleyball team dropped their first two matches of the 2012 season today against #9 Stevens Institute of Technology and NCAA Division II Sacred Heart University.

The Roadrunners (4-1) fell to the Ducks, 3-2 (25-23, 23-25, 26-28, 25-23, 18-20). Ramapo had four players with double digit kills in the match. Jeff Jones led the team with 16 kills while Paul Konopacki and Colin McNeil each added 13 of their own, and Joel Castro hit .550 with 12 kills on 20 attempts. Aaron Kerschner led the team with 13 digs while Konopacki added 12 digs and two blocks. Castro recorded seven blocks while Andrew Balint led the team with 56 assists. Ramapo tallied 66 kills on 155 attempts to hit .252 in the match while the Ducks posted 65 kills on 142 attempts, hitting .239.

In a 3-0 (11-25, 19-25, 17-25) loss to NCAA Division II Sacred Heart University, Ramapo (4-2) posted 19 kills on only 67 attempts. Castro led the team with six kills while Konopacki added four of his own along with seven digs and two blocks. Balint recorded 13 assists while Castro led the team with three blocks of his own.

Ramapo returns to action when they host Skyline rival New Jersey City University on Wednesday at the Bradley Center at 7:00 PM.
