ROADRUNNERS SWEEP AT GOLDEN EAGLES TOURNAMENT

Patchogue, NY:  The Ramapo College women's volleyball team went undefeated at the 2011 St. Joseph's College Women's Volleyball Tournament.

The Roadrunners went 4-0 at the tournament to raise their record to 19-4 overall.

Ramapo 3, Old Westbury 1
The Roadrunners defeated Old Westbury, 3-1 (25-20, 23-25, 25-17, 25-14). Deandra Black led Ramapo with 15 kills and two blocks while Allison DiAngelo and Michelle Ferrari added 13 and 12 kills respectively. Julia Tuzio and Sara Pendleton each posted five kills each while Tiffany Fischer dished out 35 assists in the match

Elizabeth Steck posted a team high 24 digs while Ferrari added 21 and Fischer recorded 16.

Ramapo 3, Farmingdale St. 0
The Roadrunnerd defeated the Rams, 25-18, 25-12, 25-23 behind 11 kills from Ferrari and eight kills from DiAngelo.

Fischer dished out 26 assists while Tuzio, Steck and Soriano each posted ten digs in the match. Pendleton posted eight kills and one solo block.

Ramapo 3, St. Joseph's LI 1
Ramapo posted a 19-25, 25-17, 25-18, 25-16 win behind Ferrari's 12 kills, 15 digs and one block. Pendleton posted seven kills while DiAngelo and Black added six of their own.

Fischer posted 34 assists, four service aces and five digs while Steck added 15 digs of her own and Tuzio posted three kills, five aces and seven digs.

Ramapo 3, York 0
The Roadrunners shutout York as Ferrari led the team with six kills on 12 attempts hitting .500 in the match. She also posted six digs. Pendleton and Black each tallied three kills while Fischer added six assists and Caity Whitman recorded seven of her own. DiAngelo tallied five service aces while Brittney Jemas and Natalie Marek each added three of their own.

Tuzio recorded a team high nine digs while Ferrari added six of her own.

The Roadrunner return to action when they host Kean University on Thursday at 7:00pm. The team will be collecting donations for breast cancer awareness in their Dig Pink Game, please wear pink to show your support!
