Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College Roadrunners fell short to the Brewers of Vassar College and the Raiders of Rivier College, both in four sets, to fall to 2-4 overall on the year in two non-conference men's volleyball match-ups.
In the first match of the day, the Roadrunners fell 0-3 (29-31, 21-25, 16-25) to Vassar College to fall to 2-3 overall. Vassar gets their first win of the 2011 season behind 12 kills from Lucas Rathjens and 11 kills from Evan Fredericksen. The team hit a combined .200 with 44 kills and 22 errors on 110 attempts. John Konow dished out 30 assists and Christian La Du led the defense with 18 digs. For the Roadrunners,

Kevin McNerney led the team's defense with 12 digs as the team combined on offense with 25 kills and 22 errors on 102 attempts hitting .029.
On court #2, Rivier and PBU played a five set match-up with the Raiders remaining undefeated on the year improving to 6-0 overall. The Raiders downed the Crimson Eagles, 3-2 (25-23, 18-25, 25-10, 16-25, 15-13) hitting a combined .247 with 59 kills and 23 errors on 146 attempts. Jared Andreozzi put away a team leading 18 kills and Aaron Almario added 12 while Alex Xenidis added eight to the win. Steve Visentin dished out 49 assists and Andrew Paine and Drew Corwin led the defense with 11 and ten digs respectively. Justin Brubaker led the offensive attack for PBU with 24 kills as the team hit .211 with 57 total kills on 152 attempts with 25 errors. Noah Prickett and Josh Tuttle contributed 12 and ten kills respectively to the offense and Drew Dillon dished out 50 assists. Prickett led the defense with 11 digs.
Ramapo dropped a second match in the day to the #5 ranked Raiders of Rivier College, 1-3 (25-20, 17-25, 23-25, 23-25) to fall to 2-4 overall on the year. With the win the Raiders improve to 7-0. Andreozzi led the Raiders with 23 kills and Xenidis added seven while combined the team recorded 51 kills on 97 attempts with 17 errors hitting .351. Visentin dished out 44 assists and Chris Convertito led the defense with 11 digs. For Ramapo, Castro recorded a team high 11 kills and Konopacki added ten, while Jones contributed nine in the loss. Balint finished the match-up with 42 assists and McNerney picked up 11 digs. The Roadrunners hit .294 as a team with 50 total kills on 102 attempts and 20 errors.
The Crimson Eagles of PBU wrapped up the day with a 3-1 (25-22, 25-13, 23-25, 25-17) win over the Brewers of Vassar College to improve to 2-1 overall on the year. Vassar now stands at 1-2 with the loss. Brubaker recorded a team leading 24 kills and Prickett added seven while the team hit .316 with 54 kills on 117 attempts and 17 errors. Dillon added 46 assists and Josh Tuttle led the defense with 15 digs. Prickett added ten digs in the win. Fredericksen led the Brewers with 18 kills and Matthew Elgin added ten, while Konow assisted on 39 points. Da Lu led the defense with 12 digs.
Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday, January 26th when they travel to Baruch College for a non-conference 7pm match-up with the Bearcats.
