WPU SLIPS PAST RAMAPO, 2-1 IN NJAC ACTION

Mawhah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team fell to the Pioneers of William Paterson University today, 2-1 at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners now stand at 3-7 overall, 0-4 in the NJAC while the Pioneers improve to 6-2-2 overall and 3-0-1 in the conference.

Senior Kimberly Bruno (Middletown, NJ) knocked a shot past the WPU goalie in the first half, off a cross from senior Melissa Demko (East Brunswick, NJ) to take a 1-0 lead 17:18 into the game. The Roadrunners and Pioneers each had four shots in the first half. Both teams each earned three corners in the while rookie Talia Auslin (Fair Lawn, NJ) recorded two saves.

In the second half, the Pioneers tied the game at 54:28 with a hard cross into the box by sophomore Michelle Marabondo (Kenvil, NJ) and rookie Sheray Anthony (Cherry Hill, NJ) tallied her third goal of the season

With 71:19 into the game sophomore Laela Brock (Paramus, NJ) tallied her third goal of the season with a shot over the Ramapo keeper's head to take a 2-1 lead. The Pioneers would hold off the Ramapo offense the remainder of the game to pick up the victory. The Pioneers out shot Ramapo 16-7 in the game and recorded a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.

The Roadrunners return to action when they travel to NJAC foe Kean University at 1:00 PM.
