Purchase, NY: The Ramapo College women's soccer team opened the 2026 season with a convincing 3-0 shutout victory over Manhattanville University on the road. This was the season opener for both teams.
Amber Maher got the Roadrunners on the board in the first two minutes of action when she scored with 1:53 on the clock off a pass from
Julianna Capitanello. The score held until the second half when the duo teamed up again for the second goal (47:08) of the game from Maher to extend the lead, 2-0.
Sofia Cascio scored her first collegiate goal in the 60th minute to extend the Ramapo lead, 3-0, while
Marisa Christ earned the assist.
Gabby Matias posted seven saves in the team's first shutout of the season. Ramapo held a 10-7 advantage in shots on goal in the game while they tallied five corner kicks to the Valiants two.
Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 9th at 3:30pm when they host Centenary University in non-conference action at the Athletic Center Turf Field.
