2009 Women's Soccer Season Review

8-9-1 Overall, 2-6-1 NJAC

The Ramapo College women's soccer team finished their 2009 season standing at 8-9-1 overall, 2-6-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.

The Roadrunners opened the 2009 season with a 1-0 shutout win at home over SUNY New Paltz before traveling to the RIT Tournament where they went 1-1 overall. They picked up a 2-1 victory over the host Rochester Institute of Technology before falling to SUNY Cortland, 0-3.

Ramapo fell to Arcadia, 1-2 before they went on a three game winning streak. They picked up shutout wins over St. Joseph's (LI), 2-0, SUNY Purchase, 1-0, and NJAC foe Rutgers Newark, 5-0. The Roadrunners fell in their next two games, both 1-2 scores at the hands of NJAC rivals William Paterson and Stockton. The Roadrunners bounced back with a NJAC win over New Jersey City University, 4-2 before being shutout by Rowan, 0-4. They fell to Manhattanville, 1-3 and defeated College of Staten Island, 9-0.

They defeated Lancaster Bible on the road, 3-1 and tied 1-1 in double overtime with NJAC rival Montclair State before falling in their last three games of the season. Ramapo fell in their last three conference games to, Rutgers-Camden, 0-2, The College of NJ, 0-4 and Kean, 0-2.

Junior Kimberly Bruno (Middletown, NJ) led the team with nine goals, two game winners while recording two assists for 20 points. Sophomore Melanie Pupo (Newton, NJ) recorded three goals, one game winner and two assists while rookie Kaitlin Griffith (Cedar Knolls, NJ) posted three goals and one assist.

Senior Jessica DaRold recorded over 1,400 minutes in the net for Ramapo while posting a team high 91 saves with three shutouts. Sophomore Alyssa Krall saw over 225 minutes in the net while she recorded five saves and one shutout.
