Mahwah, NJ: Sophomore Anthony LoRusso (Mahwah, NJ) led the Ramapo College men's basketball team to a 82-62 NJAC win over Montclair State University. The Roadrunners now stand at 16-6 overall and 7-3 in the conference while the Red Hawks fall to 10-12 overall and 3-8 in the conference.

With the game tied at 16 with 8:46 to go in the first half, MSU went on a 12-5 run to bring the game to 28-21 on a made three pointer by Ali Mix. MSU and Ramapo traded baskets before the Roadrunners went on an 8-0 run to take the lead 31-30. Sophomore LaQuan Peterkin (Paterson, NJ) slammed down a dunk at 2:04 for the lead. A jumper by Rodney Freeney (Piscataway, NJ)  put MSU up by one but Peterkin made two foul shots to again go up by one with 1:18 left in the half. Tyrone Prewitt (Trenton, NJ) hit a jumper with fifty seconds left on the clock which would prove to be the final basket of the first half sending MSU into the locker room with a 34-33.

In the second half Ramapo went on a 5-0 run early as they hit five of six foul shots, 46-39 with 15:11 on the clock. Sophomore Garret Thiel (Middletown, NJ) hit both foul shots at 11:02 to start a 7-0 run that included LoRusso's three pointer and a jumper by Peterkin at 9:02, 61-46.

In the last 7:17 of the game the Roadrunners made 12-14 foul shots. Senior Andre Kenny (Jersey City, NJ) hit a jumper with 1:16 remaining to go up by 19, 80-61 before senior Isaiah Lynch (Linden, NJ) tallied the final two points for Ramapo on a dunk, he was assisted by Thiel.

Ramapo shot 45% from the field in the game to MSU's 32%. The Roadrunners also shot 71% from the foul line to MSU's 58%.

LoRusso ended the game with 24 points, tying a season high. He was 7-11 from the field and 7-8 from the foul line. Peterkin tallied 16 points and grabbed 11 boards for his eighth double-double of the season. Kenny posted 17 points and eight boards while Thiel added 11 of his own.

Ramapo returns to action on Monday evening when they host John Jay College at 5:30 PM at the Bradley Center.  MSU takes on NJCU on Wednesday, February 10th at 6:00 PM in Montclair.
