RAMAPO DOWNS YORK, 3-0 IN NON-CONFERENCE ACTION

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team, led by junior Maura Burke (Wyckoff, NJ), defeated the Cardinals from York College tonight at the Bradley Center, 3-0 (25-5, 25-18, 25-9). The Roadrunners improve to 13-2 on the year while the Cardinals fall to 4-11.

Burke led the way for Ramapo with 11 kills on 16 attempts, hitting .625 in the match. Junior Allison DiAngelo (Clifton, NJ) added seven kills of her own on 12 attempts as she hit .417; she also posted three service aces and three assists. Junior Michelle Ferrari (Marlton, NJ) tallied six kills on seven attempts with no errors to hit, .857, while adding four service aces.

Junior Tiffany Fischer (Woodcliff Lake, NJ) and senior Meagan Taege (Manahawkin, NJ) each posted five service aces while Fischer dished out 17 assists in the match. Taege added five kills of her own and three digs. Sophomore Julia Tuzio (Paramus, NJ) recorded 11 assists, five digs and two service aces as the Roadrunners posted 22 service aces and 26 digs in the match. The Roadrunners hit .375 (35-72) to York's -.058 (11-52).

For the Cardinals, Mi-Asia King (Yonkers, NY) tallied a match high six kills while Miryam Candela (Ecuador) dished out nine assists, and Pamela Yap (Quezon City, Phillipines) recorded a team high eight digs.

The Roadrunners return to action when they host NJAC rival Rowan University on October 12th at 7:00 PM.
