Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's swim team opened up their 2010-2011 season with a tough loss to NJAC rival The College of New Jersey today at the Adele and Reuben Thomas Swimming Pool.
The Lions came away with a 149-98 victory raising their record to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in the conference while the Roadrunners begin the season, 0-1 overall and 0-1 in the NJAC.
Jenny Lo (Toms River, NJ) took home a first place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:05.61 while
Lauren Morgan (Allendale, NJ) finished in first place in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:26.97. Lo clocked in at 2:36.30 in the 200-yard breaststroke for first place and she also took home first place in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:21.90.
Junior
Bethany Wozniak (Bayville, NJ) placed third in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 12:22.28 while
Stephanie Sinck (Bridgewater, NJ) placed second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:14.14. In the 100-yard freestyle,
Kari Lefebvre (Toms River, NJ),
Caroline Colgan (East Brunswick, NJ) and
Sarah Kauffman (Wayne, NJ) finished 2-3-4 with times of 1:01.99, 1:04.05 and 1.04.51 respectively.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team made up of
Alice Sroga (Mahwah, NJ), Kauffman, Lefebvre and senior captain
Rachel Chipolone (Fair Lawn, NJ) placed second with a time of 1:52.21.
The Roadrunners return to action when they host non-conference foe Drew University on November 6th at 2:00 PM.
