Camden, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team defeated Rutgers-Camden University on the road, 3-1 (25-11, 25-19, 24-26, 25-14). With the win the Roadrunners now stand at 20-3 overall, 7-1 in the conference while the Scarlet Raptors fall to 17-12 overall, 6-2 in the NJAC.
The Roadrunners earn the #2 seed in the 2010 NJAC Women's Volleyball Tournament and a first round bye. Ramapo will now host the winner of #3 Rutgers-Camden and #6 Montclair State on Thursday, November 4th at 7:00 PM at the Bradley Center.
The Roadrunners were led by senior
Meagan Taege (Manahawkin, NJ) as she tallied 11 kills and ten digs while junior
Michelle Ferrari (Marlton, NJ) tallied ten kills, ten digs and one block. Junior
Maura Burke (Wyckoff, NJ) posted ten kills on 16 attempts to hit .562. She also had a team six total blocks, five solo. Junior
Elizabeth Steck (Marlton, NJ) led Ramapo on defense with 20 digs while junior
Tiffany Fischer (Woodcliff Lake, NJ) dished out 36 assists, eight digs and added two kills. Sophomore
Julia Tuzio (Paramus, NJ) contributed with three kills and ten digs.
The Roadrunners return to action this weekend when they travel to the Hunter Volleyball Tournament. Ramapo will take on Hunter at 9:00am before playing Manhattanville at 1:00pm on Saturday, October 30th.
