Arlington, VA: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team fell in a pair of matches hosted by Marymount University this afternoon. Marymount defeated the Roadrunners in four sets, 3-1 (15-25, 28-26, 25-19, 25-17). In their second match of the day, Shenandoah University defeated the Roadrunners in five sets, 3-2 (15-25, 23-25, 19-25, 25-19, 10-15).
Asya Akar led the Roadrunners in the first match of the day against Marymount with 14 kills as she hit .345. Akar also posted two aces, eight digs and one block.
Sydney Tramontana finished with 10 kills, three aces, three blocks and seven digs while
Cass Chauhan tallied eight kills, seven digs and two blocks.
Aubrey Agcaoili dished out a team high 25 assists while posting eight digs and two kills while
Mia Ligammari posted 13 assists and three digs. On defense,
Emily Tepale led the team with 21 digs.
In the tough five set loss to Shenandoah (3-1 overall), Ramapo hit .239 as a team in the match with 51 kills. Chauhan led the team with 16 kills while Tramontana posted 11 and Akar tallied nine. Chauhan was second on the team with 15 digs while she added three aces. Tramontana tallied eight digs and two aces and Akar posted four aces to lead the team along with two digs. Tepale once again led the team on defense with 17 digs while she added two assists and one kill. Agcaoili collected a team high 28 assists and added 10 digs and two aces. Ligammari posted 16 assists and three digs.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, Sept. 19th when they travel to Mount Saint Mary College for a tri-match. They will take on the host Saints at 11am and Centenary University at 1pm.
