Jourdan Chiavaro (Manchester, NJ) and sophomore
Stephanie Sinck (Bridgewater, NJ), both earned first place ribbons today in a tri-meet held at East Stroudsburg University with the College of St. Elizabeth. The Roadrunners defeated St. Elizabeth, 67-28, but fell short to the Warriors of ESU, 23-72, to stand at 3-4 overall on the year.
Chiavaro swam the 50-yard freestyle and touched the poolside in 26.30 for a first place finish, while Sinck clocked in at 1:15.14 in the 100-yard breaststroke, for a first place finish of her own. Rookies
Lauren Morgan (Allendale, NJ) and
Lindsey Poandl (Middlesex, NJ) each placed second in the 200-yard IM and the 100-yard freestyle respectively. Morgan finished the race in 2:25.82 while Poandl touched the wall in 57.71.
Rachel Chipolone (Fair Lawn, NJ) and
Megan Robb (Blackwood, NJ) also finished the day with second place ribbons, Chipolone in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:48.69, and Robb in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:15.41.
Robb and Morgan teamed up with
Jaclyn Bondarenko (Wayne, NJ) and
Caroline Colgan (East Brunswick, NJ) for the 400-yard freestyle relay, placing second overall in 4:10.13, and earned a final second place ribbon in the 200-yard medley relay, touching in 2:01.21. Sinck,
Jenny Lo (Toms River, NJ),
Alaina Lombardi (Mullica Hill, NJ), and Branda Slazyk (Clifton, NJ) combined efforts in the same event placing third in 2:06.58.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, January 23rd when they travel to Pace University for a tri-meet with University of Bridgeport at 2:30pm.
