KOHLER PUTS AWAY 13 KILLS LEADING RAMAPO TO 3-0 WIN

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's volleyball team played host to NECVA Metro rival, Mt. St. Vincent tonight at the Bradley Center earning a 3-0 victory (30-21, 30-14, 30-23) earning their sixth straight. With the win, Ramapo improves to 8-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference. MSV falls too 3-6 overall, 0-2 in the conference.

The Roadrunners earned a seven point, 30-21 game one victory behind four kills each from seniors Tom Kohler (East Brunswick, NJ), Shane Donohue (Freehold Twp., NJ), and TC Elsasser (Barnegat, NJ). The team combined for 17 kills on 26 attempts with five errors hitting .462. Jairo Sierra (Fair Lawn, NJ) dished out 13 assists and Kevin McNerney (Bayonne, NJ) led the defense with two digs. David Guerrero (East Meadow, NY) led the Dolphins with six kills and Chris Dotoratos (Bronx, NY) contributed 11 assists to the game. The Dolphins hit .185 with 12 kills on 27 attempts with seven errors.

Ramapo went up 2-0 after a 30-14 game two victory. Led by Kohler with nine kills, the team combined hitting .652 with 17 total kills on 23 attempts and only two errors. Rookie Matthew Agnew (Fair Lawn, NJ) recorded three kills and Sierra finished with 12 assists. The Dolphins were held to only nine kills in the game on 19 attempts. They recorded three errors in the game hitting .316 in the loss. Dotoratos added four more assists in the game.

In the final game, senior David Ross (Perth Amboy, NJ) led the Roadrunners to a 30-23 victory with five kills on 11 attempts and no errors hitting .455. Rookie Paul Konopacki (Monroe Twp., NJ) contributed five kills of his own while Sierra added 12 assists. The team hit .225 with 14 kills on 40 attempts. The Dolphins went 13-40 with 11 errors hitting .050. Matt Krauszer (Lindenhurst, NY) led the team's offensive attack with four kills and Dotoratos dished out eight assists.

Kohler finished on top of all Roadrunners with 13 kills and Donohue and Elsasser wrapped up the night with six kills each. Sierra dished out 37 assists. Elsasser recorded three service aces in the win. Ramapo hit .404 on the night with 48 kills on 89 attempts and 12 errors while the Dolphins put away 34 of their 86 attempts with 21 errors hitting .151. Guerrero led the way with 11 kills and Dotoratos dished out a team high 23 assists in the loss.

The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow night when they host SUNY Purchase at 7:00pm at the Bradley Center.
